go captain go!

so i thought i'd start off with a little entertainment. this is one of the best youtube videos i've ever seen.

so it's been awhile... i feel so lame saying that, because recently i've said that in just about every post. things have been going well. i went home for the 4th of july, which was great. spent some time at the beach, and some time at home (evidently not enough). but it'll be nice to go back mid-august.

i worked on another shoot a few weeks ago. it was a commercial for Community Action Services. basically, it's a small company somehow affiliated with the local food bank and the united way, and they help people avoid foreclosure on their homes. there were only about 5 of us on the shoot. the only reason i was even called is because i met the DP on Staying and Going and she wanted me on her shoot as well. the best part is that because it wasn't affiliated with BYU, it was a real contracted job, so i got 50$ out of the deal.

a little while ago Jewelyn, Elisabeth, and Kevin went tubing down the river. great idea. BUT... not so good of an idea going as late in the day as we did. the sun had already gone behind the mountain and we were in the shade the whole time, and i'm guessing that the water in that river is as cold or colder than the ocean on the central coast. *burrr* it was really fun though. the best part is no one wanted the pool raft, everyone wanted the tubes... so i got stuck with it. little did everyone else realize that you can paddle on it like a surfboard and fly down the river. this helped out quite a bit when i lost my shoe at the very beginning. :)

as of late, i've been subbing quite a bit for people at work. i can definitely use the extra shifts because i'm going out of of town.

i'll try to keep this up to date more often. i'm sure tons of other things happened these past few weeks... but to be honest... i just can't remember them. better luck next week?

Just a little clairification. Community Action Services and Food Bank is the local food bank for Utah, Wasatch and Summit counties. They also provide many other services, one of them being mortgage counseling. Thanks for all your work on the shoot. I think it looks great! Look for it on KSL during the month of August during their morning shows.

Haha! That was terribly cold, but sooo much fun! Although you worked the raft wonderfully I still don't think that I could handle it - I can just imagine myself flipping - not a pretty thought. Oh my! See you around!
